It is a public sector entity with scope in the Republic of Ecuador, in charge of investigating and exercising technical control in accordance with the public policy issued by the governing body Ministry of Culture and Heritage of Ecuador, for the preservation, conservation, appropriation and use adequate material and intangible cultural heritage. It will be consolidated as a specialized research center, with a high technical scientific capacity, which allows the study, analysis and application of theories, methodologies and techniques to: catalog, document, protect and enhance heritage assets , with the purpose of disseminating and raising awareness of the various actors involved, about the importance and preservation of cultural heritage for the benefit of present and future generations.
