The best cities to visit in Central and South America, according to Travel + Leisure readers, are those where new luxury hotels and innovative gastronomic trends blend with indigenous culture and centuries-old history.
Travel + Leisure magazine, which specializes in travel and tourism, conducted the World's Best Awards survey in which it asked its readers to evaluate travel experiences around the world, to share their opinions on the top cities, islands, cruises, spas, airlines and more. The evaluation is based on the criteria of reference, culture, cuisine, friendliness, shopping and overall value.

Among the results for 2022, Quito ranks in the Top 10 of the highest rated destinations among the cities of Central and South America, above Montevideo and Bogota.
The score was achieved thanks to the varied offer that the Capital of the Center of the World has and that conquers local, national and foreign tourists, such as the patrimonial Historic Center, the modern area, the biodiversity of the Andean Chocó, the experiences in rural parishes and the variety of its gastronomy.
